Wellspring Names SaaS Veteran Pat Donahue as Chief Sales Officer

CHICAGO, IL, January 9th, 2023 — Wellspring, a global leader in software solutions for R&D and Innovation Management, today announced the arrival of Patrick "Pat" Donahue as the company’s new Chief Sales Officer. In this role, Mr. Donahue will be responsible for driving revenue growth across all markets and geographies worldwide.

Mr. Donahue brings extensive experience accelerating growth and scaling sales organizations in enterprise SaaS companies. He has led the revenue organization culminating in substantial exits at SPINS (acquired by Warburg Pincus, 2021) and Panopta (acquired by Fortinet, 2020), and has also held senior executive sales positions at Talkwalker, FarmLogix, and Adgooroo/Kantar Media. Mr. Donahue honed his career at IBM, with 15 years of experience in sales roles of ascending seniority. He received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

For Wellspring, Mr. Donahue’s appointment represents the beginning of a string of planned corporate investments designed to spur growth and drive enterprise value – following the platform investment by Resurgens Technology Partners in mid-2022. “We’re very excited to welcome Pat onto the executive team here at Wellspring,” commented Robert Lowe, CEO. “We believe he has all the leadership ingredients necessary to drive our success through this next phase of growth.”

The position will be based at Wellspring’s corporate headquarters in Chicago, where Mr. Donahue will be integral to company culture and building enterprise scale. “I’m thrilled to be joining the Wellspring team at this foundational period in their corporate evolution,” added Mr. Donahue. “We have multiple avenues for growth that I’m eager to help Wellspring capture in the years to come.”
