Virtual User Groups

Wellspring’s Virtual User Groups are back! Building on the many sessions held last year, we're going to offer "basics" sessions for our newest clients ramping up on Sophia, as well as sessions covering the best practices of tech transfer and IP management.

Each VUG session will be conducted live by webinar and include demonstrations, tips and tricks, interactive discussions and Q&A, and a product roadmap. At the conclusion of each webinar, we will provide recordings in the Help Center for future review by you and your colleagues.

Below, you will find the full webinar schedule for the summer with session details and registration links. In addition to this series, we will continue to host VUG sessions throughout the year with demonstrations, presentations, and community discussions. We look forward to connecting with you soon!

Building a Ventures and Gap Funding Program: Processes then Systems

Universities and hospitals increasingly are devoting resources to gap funding, start-up accelerators, and investment programs. Once the financial resources are in place, it is time to build out processes that are scalable as programs grow. Wellspring CEO Rob Lowe will lead a session on the operational practices and processes needed to support these programs. Case studies presented will be based on the two university ventures programs Rob has personally led as well as the many Wellspring clients running such programs today. This session will focus primarily on real operations -- processes, documentation, and team-building -- over actual software, recognizing that software is not useful once we have built the practices.

Reading and Understanding Complex License Agreements

It can be tricky to read and understand a License Agreement if you have never done so before. Carla Garic will lead a session on reading through a license agreement, understanding the language, and pulling out necessary terms to input into Sophia to better manage both your financials and license compliance. Discussion will revolve around the best practices for reviewing the license agreement and then follow with tips for inputting terms into Sophia.
