Wellspring is comprised of friendly professionals dedicated to using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to meet the individual needs of our clients.
Our clinical staff has trained with some of ABA's top experts and has completed Masters Degrees in Applied Behavior Analysis at reputable Universities. In addition, our staff has acquired extensive experience in the field by working with various populations in several different states. Even with our staff's diverse experience, there are two constants: our commitment to the ethical guidelines set by our field and our devotion to the best interest of our clients.
Our expertise is in:
Age group we serve:
Although we can serve clients up to 23 years old, our specialty is working with young children. We strive to always have no waitlist for early intervention (ages 0-3 years old).
Population we serve:
Clients diagnosed with:
Locations served:
Primarily case of autism in Southern California in the child's home, school or community. We have offices in North Hills, Valencia and Pasadena that serve clients in the surrounding geographic areas (Los Angeles county, Ventura county and San Fernando Valley). Since our staff lives in various parts of California and we provide service primarily in the client's home, there are cities that we provide service to clients that are not close to an office. We have clinicians ready to handle cases of autism in Thousand Oaks, autism in Simi Valley and autism in Encino. Call our office to see if we have clinicians ready to serve your location.
Our focus is to work in partnership with the regional center to meet the needs of the child and family. We establish strong lines of communication with Regional Center and School District staff through team meetings, phone calls and written reports. We work in conjunction with you, the Regional Center or School District, to ensure that an individualized program is created to enhance the abilities and skills of the child. No program design modifications will be administered without prior approval from the Regional Center or School District.
As a fast growing organization, Wellspring will assist with the continued growth of applied behavior analysis by being a positive voice, by enhancing awareness in the community, and by setting an example of effective, ethical practices and high quality services to the individuals we serve in Southern California.
Regional Center Listings:
Regional centers are the single point of entry into the service system that helps people with developmental disabilities. These centers provide clinical evaluations to determine eligibility and service needs. They also provide service coordination, advocacy, information, referral and an array of other services to eligible infants and toddlers and their families.
Early intervention services are purchased, provided, or arranged by regional centers based on the unique needs of the child and family. If you are concerned about your child's development and/or have received a referral from your health provider, contact your nearest regional center for an evaluation. If behavioral services are needed, be sure to request for Wellspring to provide a behavioral assessment.
If behavioral services are needed, be sure to request for Wellspring to provide a behavioral assessment. We currently have contracts to service the following Regional Centers: Frank D. More information regarding the different laws that are associated with services:
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
Becoming law in 2004, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires that school districts and regional centers provide services for people with developmental disabilities which include autism. For qualified children who are under three years old, the regional centers have the responsibility for providing needed supports and services. Once a child is 3 years old, school districts assume primary responsibility for providing services and education support for disabled children until their schooling is complete. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) does have a few exceptions, so make sure to contact every entity involved and be aware of the rules. After schooling is complete, regional centers take over primary responsibility of the qualified child.
If your child is under the age of 3, then, as mandated under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), services provided through the "Early Start" program are required from the Regional Center. Legislature in California has deemed early intervention services to be of the utmost importance, and that they can have a profound effect on children in later school years. Per the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Regional Centers are required to provide services to infants and toddlers in the following five areas:
An assessment is given by qualified individuals of regional centers, and if even deemed to be of high risk for developmental disability, a child can still be eligible for services.
Once a child is over the age of 3, the regional center shares responsibility with the school district for the child's learning and well-being. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act mandates that school districts are required to provide FAPE, or Free Appropriate Public Education, which is specialized instruction without charge. A child is only removed from the regular education environment if the severity of the student's disability prevents satisfactory results.
Lanterman Act
California's Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Act require that regional centers provide service to individuals with development disabilities. The goal of this law is to provide those with development disabilities the means of integrating into community life and experience everyday living which is available to people without disabilities. The Lanterman Act supports individuals of any age or degree of disability. For more information, go to: www.dds.ca.gov
